Pokemon company donates $5 Million to non-profit organisations. The Pokemon Company International announced that they will donate a minimum of $5 million to nonprofit organisations around the world.
The company shared that “donations will go toward improving the lives of children with a focus on diversity, equity and inclusion”. It will also “include organisations supporting education and mentorship opportunities for Black children.”
Additionally, makers of Pokemon Go, Niantic also pledged to make a donation of $5 million. The donations will be made following Pokemon GO Fest 2020, taking place virtually on July 25-26.
This is the largest public donation from a video game company to diverse causes since the death of George Floyd.
