UK bookmaker Ladbrokes has confirmed that it will not replace recently-departed customer experience director and chief marketer Stephen Vowles, but will instead hand leadership of its digital marketing division to partner online gaming software supplier Playtech.
According to the Marketing Week magazine, the decision was taken after an internal review of Ladbrokes’ digital marketing operations.
The two companies announced their partnership in March.
Vowles, who was named marketing director of UK catalogue merchant Argos earlier this week, will not directly be replaced, but existing board member Nick Rust will assume overall responsibility for marketing.
Meanwhile Adam Collett, Ladbrokes’ research director, and retail marketing director Andy May will take a more direct responsibility for the firm’s branding activity. Both will report directly to Rust in their reorganised roles.
