Former England cricketer Andrew ‘Freddie’ Flintoff has been signed by UK bookmaker William Hill as a brand ambassador ahead of the start of the Ashes series between England and Australia.
Flintoff will appear in adverts for William Hill and will also give betting tips on the bookmaker’s weekly podcast. This summer’s Ashes series begins on Wednesday (tomorrow) at Nottingham’s Trent Bridge ground in England.
“I consider Freddie’s signing a huge coup,” William Hill chief marketing officer Kristof Fahy said.
“Make no mistake, he is an English icon who transcends the sport of cricket. When he talks, people listen – he is opinionated, deeply passionate about the game and instantly recognisable.”
Flintoff has joined former footballer Robbie Savage and horseracing star AP McCoy as a brand ambassador for William Hill.
