Asian investment bank, Nomura, has tapped Jonathan Lewis as its newest Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA), following the approval of UK regulators, according to a Nomura statement.
Mr. Lewis has been a mainstay at Nomura since 2008, having held a number of senior positions within the company since then, including co-deputy chief financial officer (CFO) at Nomura Holdings.
In addition, he was also named to the role of senior managing director at Nomura in 2011 – prior to joining the bank he also worked in several executive level positions at Bear Stearns International and PwC.
On the heels of the approval, Mr. Lewis’ ascension has also culminated in the appointment of Yasuo Kashiwagi, Nomura’s acting CEO – EMEA, to the role of executive chairman, EMEA.
Earlier this year, Nomura, appointed Amanda Chen as Deputy Head of its Wealth Management Division in Asia, part of an ongoing initiative to help develop growth in Japan.
