HSBC has fortified its Asia-Pacific (APAC) unit by appointing Sriram Muthukrishnan as its newest Managing Director and Regional Head of Business Development for Global Trade and Receivables Finance.

Mr. Muthukrishnan will be tasked with managing HSBC’s Global Trade and Receivables Finance (GTRF) business development and client services. In his new role, he will be reporting to Simon Constantinides, the APAC Regional Head of Global Trade and Receivables Finance at HSBC.

Muthukrishnan Brings Regional Experience

According to Mr. Constantinides in a recent statement on the appointment, “this is a key senior leadership role within Asia GTRF focused on driving how we deliver dynamic trade and working capital solutions to our multi-national clients across multiple geographies in which they operate and into which they are expanding. Sriram’s regional experience across multiple international trade disciplines compliments our global trade and receivables leadership position across Asia-Pacific.”

Prior to joining HSBC, Mr. Muthukrishnan served in a variety of executive level roles at Standard Chartered Bank since 2000. This includes the familiar position of Global Head of Trade Finance, coupled with other stints in Global Head of Supply Chain Finance, and Head of Transaction Banking – UAE.
