NetEnt signs a deal to supply Svenska Spel Sport & Casino with casino games in time for the launch of the re-regulated Swedish market.
Swedish games developer NetEnt has signed an agreement with Svenska Spel Sport & Casino AB (subsidiary of AB Svenska Spel), which will see it supply a wide range of casino games in time for the re-regulated Swedish gambling market launching on 1 January 2019.
According to a company statement, regulated markets form a key part of NetEnt’s strategy, and the firm went successfully underwent a “thorough qualification process” before being selected as online casino supplier by Svenska Spel Sport & Casino AB.
The Riksdagen (Swedish parliament), passed legislation for re-regulation of the Swedish gambling market on 7 June this year, and it will come into effect on 1 January 2019. NetEnt says it aims to be ready, along with its partners, for the big day.
Fredrik Wastenson, MD and Head of Business Unit, Svenska Spel Sport & Casino, commented:
“NetEnt was an obvious choice when selecting an online casino supplier ahead of our re-regulated market entry on January 1st, 2019. We are convinced that NetEnt will deliver casino games of the highest quality and become a very important partner for us,”
Whilst Henrik Fagerlund, MD NetEnt Malta Ltd. and Chief Product Officer of NetEnt said:
“I am very pleased that Svenska Spel has selected NetEnt as supplier ahead of the Swedish market re-regulation. Svenska Spel is the most established gambling operator and the largest sponsor of sports in Sweden. We really look forward to a close collaboration to deliver best-in-class digital casino games to Svenska Spel’s customers.”
Staying in the Nordic region, just days ago, NetEnt announced it had signed an agreement to supply games to Finland’s state-owned gaming operator Veikkaus.
