Halo Infinite multiplayer free-to-play on Xbox Series X. 343 Industries made an announcement on Friday that Halo Infinite multiplayer will be free-to-play and will support 120 frames per second on the Xbox Series X.
Halo community manager John “Unyshek” Junyszek said that the reason multiplayer wasn’t mentioned in the showcase was because the presentation was meant to focus only on Halo Infinite’s campaign mode, and explained further about original plans and where the studio is on development.
“Our original plans for large-scale flighting aren’t where we originally intended in large part due to the challenges of working from home during the COVID-19,” he wrote. “At this time we’re honestly not sure what is going to be possible in terms of flighting, but we still hope to have an opportunity for broader public hands-on before release.”
343 noted during the Microsoft showcase that Halo Infinite will be “the biggest and most ambitious Halo game ever imagined,” with the Halo Ring being double the size of the past two Halo releases combined.
Halo Infinite has yet to have a firm release date but will be available later this year.
