Casinos In Ontario And New Brunswick Back In Business

Casinos in Ontario and New Brunswick back in business. Great Canadian Gaming Corp. says it will reopen its Ontario and New Brunswick casinos on Sept. 28 which have been closed since March 16.

The Toronto-based company says 11 Ontario casinos will conform to provincial guidelines which include 50 people’s indoor limits and no table games or other amenities running.

The company says it continues to work with Nova Scotia Gaming Corp. to reopen the province’s two properties.Casinos in British Columbia remain closed as provincially required.

Chief executive Rod Baker says gambling profits in about half of the 25 casinos that will reopen would be drastically reduced due to operational restrictions.

“The reductions will be especially significant for our Ontario properties where, due to the 50-guest maximum restriction, we expect no material financial benefit to the company from our 11 Ontario locations,” he said in an news release.
