Bethard to leave UK online gambling market next month. Online gaming provider Bethard will leave the UK market next month, the latest in a rising rush to exit amid the country’s increasingly stringent regulatory framework.
On Monday, UK customers from Bethard reported receiving emails from the company alerting them that the site was retiring from the UK market effective July 6. Players can still place their bets by July 6. Upon that date however, all available bets will be closed. Customers are advised they’ll have until August 10th to remove any money left in their accounts.
The operator based in Malta, who only obtained their UK Gambling Commission license two years ago, gave no clear reason for their decision to bid the UK farewell, claiming only that the decision came after “a close review of our strategic options.”
