UK bookmaker Betfred has launched a new free lottery app that it claims will be the first gambling app to be exclusively available on Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8.
According to the Manchester Evening News newspaper, the new gambling app will be available to download from the Windows 8 and Windows Phone stores.
Betfred worked with digital design and build agency Degree 53 to create the app specifically for Microsoft consumers.
The app will enable players to bet on up to 12 international lotteries as they are drawn live on a daily basis, either using their saved favourite numbers or opt for a lucky dip to randomly generate numbers.
Users will also be able to view results and share the app across various social network channels.
“It is a monumental time for Betfred.com and a real coup to team up with one of the world’s most recognised technology brands,” Betfred.com’s managing director, Chris Sheffield, said.
“We expect to see a big growth in Windows 8 use as more consumers upgrade their PCs and mobile devices and wanted our customers to be able to access and play our popular lotto games on a choice of platforms.”
