Roboreus, developer of the geo-based GeoSweep lottery game, is to rebrand as Geonomics as part of a move to expand the firm’s location-based offerings.
Alongside the rebrand, the company has also grown its portfolio with the addition of second-chance offering Treasure hunt – an instant-win treasure-finding game for the US lottery market.
The rebrand follows a £10m ($15.5m/€11.8m) investment by European lottery broker Tipp24 – which acquired a 25.7% stake in the lottery technology firm in December 2012.
James Oakes, Chief Executive Officer of the newly-rebranded Geonomics, said, “We’ve been working hard on refining both our draw-based and instant win offerings, making our platform flexible to the needs of lotteries of varying sizes. We’re also pushing the boundaries of the technology incorporated in our games. For example, working mobile functionality into our offering is the next logical step – especially since the focus of our games is location.
“Our online game that’s live in the UK continues to be a strength in terms of development, enabling us to constantly test updates to the game on actual players – and we have plans to expand our player base here in the UK in the coming months.”
