Epic Reveals Details on Fortnite Champion Series Chapter 2 Season 7

Epic Games announced Friday that the first Fortnite Champion Series Chapter 2 Season 7 qualifiers will begin on July 29 in the Middle East and July 30 in all other regions.  A total prize pool of $3M USD will be up for grabs during Season 7 FNCS divided into seven regions – North America-East, North America-West, Europe, Middle East, Oceania, Brazil, and Asia.

As was the case with the Season 6 FNCS competition, the FNCS All-Star Showdown will take place prior to the launch of the new season, from June 23-26. It will feature a skills challenge, a non-battle royal team competition, and a solos battle royale competition. Epic said that it will announce more information on that competition “soon” in addition to a “yet-to-be-announced early-season tournament” and that some slots for the All-Star are still to open.

In addition, a Console Cup with a $250K prize pool will take place July 22-25, giving console players about a month (starting June 21) to reach the Champion League.

Finally, Epic said that weekly competitive offerings will continue in addition to Season 7 FNCS happenings including Trios Cash Cups and Hype Cups (Mondays), Solo Cash Cups (Sundays), and LTM tournaments (Saturdays). The first Cash Cup of the season will be on July 12. Cash Cups will continue to play into the DreamHack Cash Cup Extras in EU and NA-East, with DreamHack hosting an open tournament starting in August.

It should also be noted that prize pools for Season 7 FNCS have been slightly adjusted from last season:

EU: $1,351,200, up from $1,350,000.

NA-E: $690,000, up from $635,100.

NA-W: $222,300, down from $300,000.

Brazil: $428,175, up from $300,000.

Middle East: $122,250, up from $120,000

Asia: $150,600, up from $150,000.

OCE: $90,450, up from $90,000.

Epic announced in January that the total prize pool for the 2021 Fortnite Champion Series would be $20M, an increase of $3M over the 2020 season and that there would not be a World Cup event this year due to COVID-19.
