According to an official announcement, the League of Legends Pro League (LPL), China’s premier League of Legends competition, will resume play beginning on March 9, with the English-language broadcast set to kick off on March 15.
The league had been delayed due to growing concerns over the spread of coronavirus in the region.
For safety, all players will be required to complete a monitored 14-day quarantine period as well as meeting all local health requirements in order to participate in league matches.
Additionally, the remainder of the spring split will be played online with players competing from their club headquarters. This marks the first time an official major region League of Legends professional league has conducted its season through online play since the structure’s inception in 2013.
