During the Brazilian Independent Games Festival (BIG Festival), the biggest indie games expo in Latin America, esports organization INTZ presented its own game studio, the Apollo Games Lab, and the first game to be released, Apollo in Outerspace. To be released for PC on Steam and also on mobile platforms (iOS and Android), the game has been produced over the last year and will be available from May 14.
Apollo Games Lab is co-founded by Guilherme Romano, currently the head of the studio, and by INTZ through its CEO Lucas Almeida.
Regarding the relationship between the organization and the studio, Romano says that “INTZ participates in the marketing and in the projects, which at this moment will be more aligned with the image of the organization, for example featuring Apollo, who is the team mascot. After this stage, we may produce projects that walk apart from the elements of the club.“
Romano also told FortuneZ how the work dynamics are currently working between the organization and the studio: “We have a vision of managing the studio to be something more internal of INTZ, because now it works as a partnership, something more external of the org. But as soon as we raise the proper budget through investments we will bring everything inside.”
INTZ is one of the main Brazilian organizations, holding rosters in the main esports leagues of the country and being the biggest winner of the Brazilian League of Legends Championship (CBLOL) with 5 titles. Another Brazilian organization that holds its own studio is Vivo Keyd, which in 2020 released the mobile game Cyber Hero.
