Worldpay Secures Santander’s Peter Jackson as its UK Chief Executive

Santander’s Head of Innovation Peter Jackson has parted ways with the lender after a one-year stint with the bank to take up a new role at Worldpay as its Chief Executive in the UK, FortuneZ has learned.

Mr. Jackson will officially begin his tenure at Worldpay, a payments processor, on March 1, 2017. In this capacity he will be replacing Peter Hobday, who recently left the group back in December 2016 to pursue other opportunities. He will be reporting to Philip Jansen, the company’s Chief Executive Officer.

Mr. Jackson is a veteran in the banking realm, having been active in the industry for fifteen years. Prior to joining Santander in early 2016, he worked as the CEO of Travelex for over five years, dating back to 2010. Additional roles also include senior stints at Lloyds Banking Group as a Managing Director of Consumer Banking and an assortment of positions at HBOS plc, according to information made public on his Linkedin profile.

According to Mr. Jansen in a recent statement on the appointment: “We are delighted to welcome Peter to Worldpay. His experience in digital innovation and business transformation, along with his extensive experience and knowledge of the financial services industry will add real value to Worldpay.”
