Mobile-focused esports organization Tribe Gaming announced that it has raised over $1M USD in a seed investment round. Participants in the financing round included Boston Celtics player Gordon Hayward, Super Evil Megacorp CEO Kristian Segerstrale, World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) performer Claudio “Cesaro” Castagnoli, and angel investor Victor Krahn.
The organization is looking to use the proceeds to support its general expansion plans over the next few years in addition to the short-term creation of a new headquarters and a content creator lab specifically designed for mobile gaming and entertainment in Austin, Texas.
Furthermore, Tribe Gaming’s new investor partners Hayward, who is also a HyperX ambassador; and Castagnoli, an avid League of Legends and Clash of Clans player who first met the esports organization’s founder and CEO Patrick Carney through a collaboration with WWE, intend to be actively involved in building Tribe’s brand by being active community members and producing content alongside the team’s creators.
