TP ICAP plc, an interdealer broker, announced this Friday via the London Stock Exchange (LSE) news services that it has appointed Mark Hemsley to the role of Non-executive Director.
In addition to his appointment as a Non-executive Director, Hemsley will also be a member of the interdealer broker’s Risk and Nominations & Governance Committees. He will assume all of these positions on March 16, 2020.
Hemsley has an extensive career in the capital markets in Europe. Most notably, he was the President of Cboe Europe, the European arm of Cboe Global Markets Inc. He held this position until his recent retirement.
Before he was heading Cboe Europe, Hemsley was a founding employee of Bats Europe in 2008. When the company acquired Chi-X Europe, he led the acquisition and integration, the statement released today said.
From here, Bats was then acquired by Cboe Global Markets back in 2017, which saw Hemsley taking on the role of President of Cboe Europe. Earlier in his career, he was Managing Director and Chief Information Officer at LIFFE.
Commenting on Mark Hemsley’s appointment, Richard Berliand, Chairman of TP ICAP plc, said in the statement: “We are very pleased to welcome Mark to the Board of the Company. He brings substantial experience from his executive career and will be able to draw on his extensive markets and infrastructure experience in his role on the Board.”
TP ICAP also appoints Angela Crawford-Ingle
The appointment of Hemsley follows on from TP ICAP naming Angela Crawford-Ingle as a non-Executive Director. As FortuneZ reported, she will also take on this role on March 16, as well as being a member of the Company’s Audit, Risk, and Nominations and Governance Committees.
Crawford-Ingle is a chartered accountant and brings more than three decades worth of experience to the role. The bulk of her career was spent at PricewaterhouseCoopers, where she was a partner specializing in Financial Services for 30 years.
