TikTok has partnered with Collegiate StarLeague to create a new esports event called the TikTok Cup. The cup will feature a series of team-based tournaments and is opened only to college students that are currently enrolled in any US college or university.
Approximately $60K USD will be awarded across four esports titles including Fortnite, League of Legends, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, and Rocket League. Registration is completely free and college students can begin signing up at the official website as registration for the first tournament has been opened.
Additionally, ByteDance is holding an in-app video contest related to the Tik Tok Cup. Those who wish to participate will need to create a video related to gaming and share it on Tik Tok, tagging CSL and hashtag TikTokCupContest. The winner of this contest will be awarded $2500.
