French esports organization Team Vitality has hired former adidas Managing Director Guillaume de Monplanet as its new managing director and co-CEO. Team Vitality aims to leverage his experience in the sports and lifestyle industries as it pursues its goals of global expansion.
In his eight-year tenure at adidas, Monplanet oversaw more than 700 employees while serving as managing director for adidas France. Prior to adidas, he was the country brand director for France at Reebok. Monplanet will utilize that experience to elevate brand awareness of Team Vitality as the organization works to move into new regions.
In late 2020, Team Vitality kicked off its international expansion with the launch of a division in India, signing multiple content creators. Earlier this year, the company also hired former Paris Saint-Germain general manager Bruno Martini to serve as its esports general manager.
