Australian gaming company TabCorp has agreed a multi-million dollar contract with telecommunications provider Telstra for mobile and fixed telecom services in the county and overseas for the next five years.

TabCorp can use Telstra’s Next G and Next IP networks, digital video network and video conferencing as part of its service offering, which includes wagering brands such as Tab, Keno and Sky Racing.

Kim Wenn, TabCorp Chief Executive Officer, said in a statement that the Telstra technology will power TabCorp’s ‘digital future’ including online wagering platforms, enhanced digital content, mobile solutions, live betting and self-service kiosks.

She added, “TabCorp’s unique multi-channel distribution model enables customers to transact with us through more channels than any other operator in the country. This inherently demands flexibility, reliability and speed-to-market with rich media content distribution.

“The new telecommunications infrastructure creates growth opportunities for TabCorp and will enhance the quality and reliability of our customer experience across our vast distribution network.”

The contract includes an option for TabCorp to extend the deal for an additional five years.
