Swedish gaming regulator imposes harsh fines on Betway Limited and Mandalorian Technologies for breaching strict bonus rules.
The Swedish gaming regulator, Spelinspektionen, has demonstrated it means business by fining Betway Limited and Mandalorian Technologies Limited for breaking rules about bonuses.
Swedish rules only allow licensed operators to offer customers bonuses once, but Betway and Mandalorian were found offering them on repeated occasions.
The regulator has said it views these offences as serious violations, and has wacked Mandalorian with a SEK9m (€837k) fine, and Betway with a SEK5m (€465k) fine.
Apparently, Spelinspektionen had contacted operators on 19th February, reminding them of their obligations to comply with bonus rules. Whilst it reported some compliance, it decided further action was necessary.
