Mobile developer Supercell has released details on its 2020 Brawl Stars esports plan, including over $1M USD in prize money. The season will consist of an open global competition with monthly finals held in ESL’s Poland studio. ESL will produce and organize both the online events and monthly finals.

As with Supercell’s Clash Royale League, Brawl Stars competitions will be broadcast on YouTube, which historically has been the preferred viewership platform for mobile games.

In addition to the $1M from Supercell, a crowdfunding program will add up to an additional $500K to the prize pool through in-game purchases. The prize pool is a significant increase over 2019, which saw $250K awarded for the Brawl Stars World Championship in South Korea. As with 2019, the 2020 season will culminate in a global finals event, though details have not yet been revealed.
