The finals for the Rainbow Six Siege Pro League XI has been called off in response to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Originally slated for São Paulo, Brazil, between May 16-17, the event has been canceled outright, along with the Asia-Pacific (APAC) finals LAN event that would have qualified a team for the finals. In a move not seen elsewhere in esports yet, publisher Ubisoft will distribute the associated prize pool of both events across the top teams of each region.

The pandemic is also likely to affect other esports events due to take place in Brazil this year. The ESL One Rio de Janeiro Major on May 11-24, one of the biggest Counter-Strike: Global Offensive tournaments of the year, has not been officially canceled or delayed, however the city hall of Rio announced that licenses granted for large events will be canceled. The Campeonato Brasileiro de League of Legends has also suspended play for 15 days.
