The Rocket League World Championship was canceled due to concerns regarding the spread of novel coronavirus (COVID-19), making the Regional Championships the highest level of competition for the season. To elevate the stakes surrounding these events, Rocket League developer Psyonix Studios has added an additional $250K USD in prizing to the four regions which were slated to compete in the World Championship.

The North American and European Regional Championships will each have $100K added to their totals, while Oceania and South America will receive $25K each.

Additionally, Psyonix hinted that it is working on additional online competitions to make up for the gap in Rocket League’s esports schedule left by the cancellation of the World Championship.
