Today, PlayVS announced an expansion of its tournament and league platforms with the addition of Epic Games’ Fortnite to its high school game lineup and an expansion of its platform into the collegiate competition. PlayVS already offers Rocket League — a game by Epic Games-owned developer Psyonix — competitions at the high school level.
With the addition of Fortnite, this marks the first time that competitive Fortnite will be available at the high school level through PlayVS. Fortnite will also have an official collegiate format that will include a national championship to be held at the end of each season.
“Adding such a successful game to the lineup is a dream come true for the coaches who are trying to grow their program,” said Phillip Schultz, East Coweta High School (GA) esports coach. “I fully expect a surge of students to jump on board with the addition of such a well-known game from the competitive arena.”
