New Jersey-based PlaySugarHouse.com, from Rush Street Interactive, has become the first online casino-sportsbook to go live in the USA.
New Jersey-based PlaySugarHouse.com has launched a new combined casino and sportsbook site, making it the first US-based operator to do so.
Parent company Rush Street Interactive launched the new site on 23rd August, and though there are already online sportsbooks operated in the state by DraftKings and MGM, PlaySugarHouse is the first two integrate one with a casino.
The new casino and sportsbook follows the tried and tested formula familiar to other regulated markets, offering a comprehensive range of bets, along with live in-play and cash-out options, decimal or fractional odds options, and a loyalty points reward scheme.
Interestingly, Rush Street Interactive claim that PlaySugarHouse has been designed to “make the sports betting process easy to understand” – something that operators, especially those coming to the US from mature European markets, will need to keep in mind considering the relative inexperience of US consumers.
Rush Street Interactive President, Richard Schwartz, said:

PlaySugarHouse is currently only available to New Jersey-based customers, but with a population of over 9 million that is a considerable market in itself. Rush Street is also bound to benefit from invaluable experience regarding how American consumers react to the European-style online casino-sportsbook combo, putting them in a good place to exploit new opportunities in other states when they arise.
