Online gambling and betting provider mybet Holding has confirmed that Mathias Dahms, the firm’s founder, chief executive officer and management board spokesman, is to retire from the company on December 31.
In a statement, mybet said that the departure is “amicable and by mutual agreement” and that Dahms is leaving the company at his own request for personal reasons.
Monika Fiala, mybet’s new chief financial officer, will initially cover Dahms’ duties when he steps down at the end of 2013.
“After 15 years on the management board, including three years as chief executive officer, Mathias Dahms would like to focus on new tasks,” mybet’s supervisory board chairman, Dr Volker Heeg, said.
“We are exceptionally indebted to Mr Dahms for his successful contribution to the mybet Group over many years and are pleased we will be able to draw on his expertise as a consultant for a transitional period.”
Dahms helped found the mybet Group in 1998 and initially served as finance director, chief technology officer and chief operating officer. In 2010 he took on the role of management board spokesman.
“After a long and exciting time at mybet I am now relishing the prospect of fresh challenges,” Dahms said.
