Philippines-based Esports organization Mineski is organizing a competitive circuit for Riot Games’ new mobile title League of Legends: Wild Rift. The competition will be divided into two seasons with a unique distribution model for its P10M ($208.2K) prize pool. Throughout the season, teams will accrue points that are redeemable at the end of the season for a single Philippines peso each. A season will have a total of 5M points available, meaning the full year will offer P10M in prizing.
Additionally, Mineski has partnered with Riot ahead of its own series to host a pre-season event for the Wild Rift Icon Series, a broader competitive circuit serving the Southeast Asian region.
Wild Rift has yet to receive a full global release, but the investment from Mineski shows that regions where mobile esports have already been established through titles like Mobile Legends: Bang Bang are ready to dive into the Riot Games ecosystem.
