Online gaming operator bwin.party has confirmed that Lord Lewis Moonie has stepped down as a non-executive director with immediate effect.
Lord Moonie first joined the board of PartyGaming in December 2007 and remained a director after the company merged with bwin Interactive Entertainment AG in March 2011.
Following Lord Moonie’s departure, the bwin.party board now comprises nine directors.
“This change conforms to our previously stated aim to reduce the size of the board, whilst maintaining compliance with the UK Corporate Governance Code’s recommendation on the balance of independent and non-independent directors,” bwin.party’s chairman, Simon Duffy, said.
“Lewis has made a significant contribution to both the development of PartyGaming and bwin.party. We thank him for his tireless efforts over the last six years and wish him well for the future.”
