Kentucky man sentenced to prison for illegal gambling operation. A Kentucky man was sentenced to one year and three months in prison for carrying out an illicit internet gaming operation.
The Daily News reports Douglas Booth was convicted Wednesday in federal court in Bowling Green after a plea agreement on charges including failure to file tax returns and money laundering.
Court filings show Booth controlled websites hosted in Costa Rica where illegal gambling has taken place on sporting events.Booth’s plea agreement said he received about $2.3 million from his gambling operation laundered through banks, real estate property purchases and loan payments.
