The Polish Ministry of Finance has awarded Totolotek, a subsidiary of the manufacturer and provider of integrated gaming and transaction processing systems Intralot SA, a six-year online betting license.
According to the licence, Totolotek will be able to provide online fixed-odds betting and sport pool games in Poland.
Intralot, which acquired Totolotek in 2005, said that its subsidiary’s interactive operations in Poland would commence in the final three months of 2013.
“Establishing our interactive operations in the country is part of our strategy to exploit new sales channels and introduce new ways of playing so as to better address the new preferences and habits of players, especially in younger demographics,” Intralot’s managing director for Europe and North Africa, Fotis Mavroudis, said.
“Our global expertise in betting, our know-how in interactive gaming from our operations worldwide as well as our long local experience guarantee that we will further increase our market share in Poland and boost our revenues.”
In December, Athens-based Intralot announced that Totolotek had been granted a new six-year licence to operate mutual betting in Poland.
