Integrated gaming and transaction processing systems developer and supplier Intralot SA has been granted a five-year renewal to its lottery and instant games licence in the Australian state of Tasmania.
Athens-based Intralot received its initial licence to operate lottery and instant games for residents of Australia’s smallest state in 2008 and declared that the extended certification granted by the Tasmanian Gaming Commission will see it carry on until late-June of 2018.
Intralot stated that the previous five years has seen it expand the gaming choices for Tasmanian players with the introduction of ‘a wide portfolio of new and exciting games’ including Lucky Keno, Lucky Lines, Lucky Bingo, Lucky3, Lucky5 and Lucky Scratcies offered through its network of retail outlets across the state.
“The five-year licence renewal in Tasmania is part of our strategy to continue to invest in Oceania,” said Antonis Markopoulos, Oceania General Manager for Intralot.
“Since 2005, Intralot has managed to establish a strong position in the continent receiving lottery licences in the Australian states of Victoria and Tasmania, providing the EGM monitoring systems in New Zealand and Victoria and supporting as a technological supplier Lotterywest in Western Australia.
“Regarding Tasmania, we are willing to continue our successful operation focusing on introducing innovative and exciting gaming offerings that we are sure Tasmanian players will embrace. We are confident that our expanded product range and the wider distribution can lead to a greater market share.”
