Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment (HBSE), owner of sports franchises Philadelphia 76ers and New Jersey Devils, has appointed David Abrams as its new Head of Investments.
Last year, Abrams was responsible for facilitating the merger between esports organization Dignitas and League of Legends Championship Series (LCS) team Clutch Gaming, and the formation of a new parent company for the team, New Meta Entertainment. The merger also brought the Dignitas brand back to the LCS, a league it had participated in since its inception in 2013 before the move to a franchise model in 2018.
As Head of Investments, Abrams will oversee HBSE’s efforts to identify early-stage startups to invest in across esports, gaming, and sports technology sectors.
