GOT’s Maisie Williams asks about bitcoin. English actress Maisie Williams, well known for her character as Arya Stark in the HBO series Game of Thrones, could be jumping in on the Bitcoin bandwagon.
In a Nov. 16 post on Twitter, the actress asked her 2.7 million followers if she should go “long on Bitcoin.” At the time of publication, the majority — 54.6% — are advising her against investing in the crypto asset, with a total of 801,713 people responding. Williams has an estimated net worth of $6 million from her work in television and film.
The high-profile celebrity’s mention of Bitcoin (BTC) left Crypto Twitter abuzz as other figures were quick to chime in with their thoughts.
Peter McCormack, host of the ‘What Bitcoin Did podcast’, suggested Williams to avoid altcoins at all costs stating, “Bitcoin and nothing else.” Crypto terms crossing over with references to Game of Thrones were abundant, as Blockfolio told Williams she should “join the free folk” by going on Bitcoin for a long time. Barry Silbert joined the crowd, suggesting the actress try out “the other” form of Grayscale, a tribute to a disease in the series and the crypto trusts of the investment company. Elon Musk also chimed in saying “Toss a bitcoin to ur Witcher”.

The adoption of Bitcoin among major entertainment and finance figures has seen a substantial increase in 2020 as many search for hedges for inflation and digital cash alternatives. This year, day trader Dave Portnoy briefly joined the crypto group later describing Bitcoin “one big Ponzi scheme.”
