Land-based casino operators Golden Nugget and Trump Entertainment Resorts have been granted internet gambling licences from the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement.
Golden Nugget Atlantic City, as well as Trump Taj Mahal and Trump Plaza Hotel, will be able to offer online gambling services when the US state launches full online gaming on November 26.
Golden Nugget has partnered with online casino games company Bally Technologies and will offer online gaming under its GoldenNuggetCasino.com and GoldenNuggetPoker.com brands.
“All players that desire to gamble online deserve a fair and trustworthy experience,” Golden Nugget’s vice-president and general manager, Tom Pohlman, said.
“Rest assured, that is our customer commitment, and unlike others, we have an Atlantic City land-based casino to stand behind our online brand.”
Meanwhile, Trump has opted for two different partners for its properties. Gaming company Ultimate Gaming has been named as the Trump Tal Mahal online partner, while Trump Plaza will join forces with betting exchange, casino and sportsbook operator Betfair.
“Ultimate Gaming is a pioneer in the online gaming space and can provide a turnkey solution for our online gaming needs in New Jersey,” Trump Entertainment Resorts’ chief executive officer, Robert F. Griffin, said.
Before the confirmation of Golden Nugget and Trump, Borgata had been the only operator to receive a permit for online gaming in New Jersey. The operator’s software provider bwin.party is still awaiting approval.
Although online gambling is scheduled launch in the state on November 26, all permitted companies must first take part in a five-day ‘soft launch’ trial period that begins on November 21.
