Genius Sports Extends Data Distribution Deal With Euroleague Basketball

Sports data and technology provider Genius Sports Group has confirmed it has extended its data distribution deal with Euroleague Basketball.

Under the agreement, the sports betting division of Genius Sports Group, Betgenius, will continue to collect data courtside at Euroleague games, and distribute it in real-time to its substantial network of licensed sportsbooks.

Commenting on the extension, Chief Commercial Officer at Genius Sports, Jack Davison, said:

“The extension of our partnership with one of the world’s leading basketball leagues demonstrates our commitment to ensuring security of supply, of the most important content, to our customers.

“Our investment in the growth of live basketball betting is dependent on the capture and distribution of fast, accurate and highly reliable data.”

Euroleague is televised on more than 200 countries globally, with each season attracting more than 50 million viewers. The league has also launched a new rights enforcement strategy, which will aim to eject any unauthorised data collectors from its venues.

Genius Sports now employs its data collection system across 150 countries, covering around 85,000 basketball games annually. In 2019 Genius Sports also extended its technology partnership with the International Basketball Federation.
