Gauselmann Group has acquired a significant majority stake in iGaming platform provider, Bede Gaming.
Praising the deal as significant for the enhancement of its digital offering, Gauselmann said that it leaves them well-positioned to take advantage of the re-regulation of the German online gaming market that will take place in 2021.
By acquiring a stake in Bede, the Group gains a foothold in the North American lottery market as Bede Gaming was selected by the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation to redesign its online offering in September 2018.
Representatives from Gauselmann say that its latest partner’s technological expertise is very impressive and that the acquisition will allow them to broaden their existing technology base.
“Bede’s technological expertise is very impressive and its highly complex solutions are first choice for leading gaming companies not only in the UK, but around the world. This acquisition will allow us to significantly broaden the existing technology base within the group and at the same time enable us to offer it to our customers and partners,” said Paul Gauselmann, Chief Executive Officer for the Group.
As far as Bede goes, it will continue to operate as an independent business within the Group and it will keep its offices in Newcastle-upon-Tyne in the United Kingdom, as well as in Bulgaria’s capital Sofia and in Toronto, Canada. Also, Bede Gaming’s management team will keep a stake in the business.
Officials from Bede, which saw its strongest year in 2018, say that they are delighted about the acquisition and that it will allow them to enhance their range of products and services.
“Gauselmann’s long-term prospects and financial strength will allow us to further enhance our range of products and services to existing customers as well as win new business partners,” said Joe Saumarez-Smith, Chairman.
