Berlin-based G2 Esports has announced Spanish esports organisation Arctic Gaming will now handle its League of Legends academy team.

The partnership will see Arctic represent G2 in the officially sanctioned Superliga Orange (SLO) and other national tournaments. At the time of writing no financial details had been disclosed about the deal.

The deal will also see G2’s Spanish team, G2 Arctic, undergo a rebrand. Additionally, Mondelēz Group’s popular cookie brand Chips Ahoy! has been confirmed as G2 Arctic’s main sponsor.

In 2019 G2’s Spanish presence took the form of G2 Heretics – a partnership with Team Heretics. However, the partnership ended with the team’s disbandment in December.

Spain is still an important market for G2, being the home country of the organisation’s CEO, Carlos Rodriguez, despite its move from Spain to Germany in 2018.

Arctic Gaming, which also competes in Clash Royale, has commercial partnerships with JD Sports Spain and Krom Gaming.
