Excel Esports on Friday, released a statement regarding its League of Legends European Championship roster. The post on Twitter promised changes to the lineup for the 2020 LEC summer split.
After reviewing their situation internally after having fall short of playoffs, Excel mentioned changes were necessary and that the team will switch up its top lane and mid lane positions. Excel’s top laner this past spring was Ki “Expect” Dae-han, and mid laner was Son “Mickey” Young-min. The Twitter statement did not elaborate on whether these players would be leaving or remain on the roster as substitutes.
Excel completed the LEC spring split in seventh place with a four-match loss streak at the end of the split. The UK organization had some strong single-game performances, but were inconsistent throughout, ultimately costing them a playoff spot.
