Equinix Adds Sandra Rivera to its Board of Directors

There’s been a change to the Board of Directors of Equinix, Inc., with the company announcing this Tuesday that it had appointed Sandra Rivera to the Board, bringing the total number of directors on the Equinix Board to 10.

At the same time, Rivera will also serve as a member of the Board’s Compensation Committee, the global interconnection and data center company also revealed in its statement today.

A veteran at Intel Corporation

Rivera brings a lot of experience with her, having spent 19 years with Intel Corporation. During her tenure with the firm, she held a number of senior leadership positions. This included roles with the Intel Network Platforms Group, the Communications, and Storage Infrastructure Group, and the Modular Communications Products division.

Currently, Rivera is the Executive Vice President and Chief People Officer (CPO) at Intel Corporation. According to her LinkedIn profile, she was appointed to this position in June of this year.

Commenting on the appointment, Peter Van Camp, the Executive Chairman at Equinix, said: “Sandra brings more than 20 years of experience in the networking and communications technology space to the Equinix Board of Directors.

“Her background at Intel and other leading technology companies will bring a valuable perspective to the Board as Equinix continues to develop its global interconnection and data center platform that is a key ingredient in the IT infrastructure of today’s businesses.”

As the Executive VP and CPO, Rivera is in charge of leading Intel’s human resources organization. As part of this, she is responsible for driving better business results by promoting a diverse and accepting work culture.

Before she was at the technology company, Rivera co-founded and served as the president of CTI Authority. The company was a distributor of computer telephony integration (CTI) products. The company was acquired by Catalyst Telecom.

With a career spanning more than three decades, Rivera has managed to gather a large skill set, which includes experience in global sales, product and segment marketing, as well as having an engineering background.
