Epic Games Cancels Fortnite World Cup Competition

Epic Games has announced its cancellation of the 2020 Fortnite World Cup through its official Twitter account. Additionally, all remaining Fortnite competition in 2020 will be played remotely online. This decision stems from the ongoing novel coronavirus crisis.

Upon receiving feedback from its players, the video game and software developer has decided for its broadcast to make a return. Official broadcasts of competitive play will start with the Fortnite Championship Series Invitational (FNCS).

The $2M Fortnite Championship Series Invitational features solo competitions by the best players from North America ( East and West), Europe, Brazil, Asia, Oceania, and the Middle East, with some being directly invited by Epic Games.

The FNCS starts on May 9th 2020 and will run for three consecutive weekends.
