Texas-based esports organisation Envy Gaming has appointed Sheri Simonson as Director of Sponsorship Activation.
Announcing the news via LinkedIn, Envy said that Simonson has an extensive background in marketing, entertainment, sports and gaming.
Previously Simonson was with GameStop, the world’s largest video games retailer, as Manager of Merchandise Marketing, and also spent a decade with The Walt Disney Company as a National Media Sales Executive. Interestingly GameStop has partnered with Team Envy previously (read more).
Her new position will see her manage marketing activations for corporate partners of Envy Gaming’s various esports properties, including Team Envy, Overwatch League franchise Dallas Fuel, and Call of Duty League franchise Dallas Empire.
Envy is currently active across several titles including Call of Duty, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Fortnite, Overwatch, Paladins and PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds.
The organisation has also announced plans to expand its HQ and training facility at Victory Park, Dallas.
