Fantasy sports operator DraftKings, working with Kambi, has soft-launched a premium mobile sportsbook app in New Jersey.
As sports betting ramps up in the USA following the repeal of PASPA, fantasy sports operator DraftKings has soft-launched a sportsbook mobile app in New Jersey.
So far, the ‘DraftKings Sportsbook’ app has only seen a limited launch, with users having to apply to test it via the DraftKings website. The sportsbook app is syndicated through DraftKings’ NJ licensing deal with Resorts Casino, and was developed in partnership with Stockholm-listed tech giant Kambi Plc.
DraftKings is using the limited soft launch to test and ensure the sportsbook is compliant with New Jersey DGE rules, and hopes to roll it out fully within weeks.
According to DraftKings, the app is bringing all the premium features familiar to the European market, including live in-play betting, streaming, and cash-out.
CEO and Co-Founder of DraftKings, Jason Robins, took to Twitter to emphasise the importance of the new product to the company’s line-up. Whilst Kambi CEO, Kristian Nylen, said:
“Yesterday marked the start of an exciting new chapter for Kambi, as we created history with our partner DraftKings by processing the first online wager outside of Nevada following the repeal of PASPA. To be the first, and so far and only, sports betting supplier to receive a Transactional Waiver to operate online in New Jersey strengthens our position as the secure and quality choice for operators seeking a sportsbook partner.”
