English Premier League football club Manchester City has reached a deal with 188BET to make the online gaming company its official international betting partner.
Under the two-year agreement, from 2013-14 to 2014-15, 188BET will use City’s crest and player imagery throughout its key markets.
Earlier in the summer, City launched 10 foreign language editions of its official website, and 188BET will enjoy a strong presence on the Malay, Thai, Chinese and Indonesian versions.
During the close season, Manchester City has actively sought to bolster its presence in the Asian market and struck deals with car manufacturer Daihatsu, car battery supplier GS Battery and soft drinks brand est Cola.
“Having built a strong reputation by providing customers with an extensive variety of products across multiple markets, we feel 188BET has the opportunity to become one of the biggest online gaming companies in the world,” City’s Chief Commercial and Operating Officer Tom Glick said.
“We look forward to working together to help them expand their operations, particularly throughout South East Asia.”
