Citigroup Switches up Markets and Securities Teams in China

Banking giant Citigroup announced two key changes to its Chinese business on Friday.

Ji Yang has been appointed Head of Markets and Securities Services, and Vicky Tsai will be working as Head of Securities Services.

Yang has been with Citigroup for almost twenty years.

He joined the firm back in 2000 and worked in its Beijing office for three years. After a short stint in Switzerland, he returned to China in 2004 and started working in the company’s Shanghai office.

From Beijing to Hong Kong

Working as Co-Head of Corporate Sales and Structuring for several years, in 2010 he was promoted to Head of China Investor Sales.

In 2014, Yang left Citigroup’s Shanghai office and moved to Hong Kong to take up a new role as Head of Corporate Sales and Structuring.

According to Reuters, Yang will report to Stuart Staley, Citigroup’s Head of Markets and Securities Services for the Asia-Pacific region, in his new role.

Tsai, who has also been at the firm for close to a decade, will be reporting to Harry Peng, Citigroup Head of Prime, Futures and Securities Services for Hong Kong and China.

FortuneZ reached out to both Tsai and Yang for comment on this story but, no reply was given at the time of publication.
