Amazon-owned streaming Twitch has announced that Christine Weber has been installed as its new Chief Technology Officer. Weber has over 20 years of experience in creating and implementing engineering solutions for companies such as Liberty Latin America, SlingTV, and EchoStar Technologies.
This is being heralded as a win by Twitch as it relates to the promotion of women in the space citing a pre-pandemic study that purportedly showed that less than one-in five CIO/CTO roles are held by women and that it is one-in-10 for the technology space.
