China’s Ant Group Launches Digital Copyright Platform On AntChain

China’s Ant Group launches digital copyright platform on AntChain. Through its blockchain operation, the Chinese fintech company Ant Group has announced a new platform called AntChain. The company was founded by the e-commerce giant Alibaba and is the parent company of Alipay, China’s biggest digital payment service.

The platform combines blockchain technology with AI enabling creators to securely authenticate and verify all kinds of original content, being video, image-based or written material.

For each work that is uploaded into its database, the platform produces a distinctive, tamper-proof digital copyright certification and notary stamp. The certifications are supposed to be valid for use in copyright infringement and tort cases. The company believes that these services will save 95% of the costs usually associated with gaining copyright registration and certification for their customers.

Additionally, AntChain’s platform incorporates digital ID and search services to help creators to track and detect possible copyright infringement more efficiently. According to AntChain, some 10 million original works are already being uploaded and certified every day on the new platform.
