The British Gambling Commission has suspended the licence of International Multi-Media Entertainments Limited, which operates lottery betting site Lotteries.com, due to AML and social responsibility concerns.
The operator’s remote betting and casino licence was suspended today (17 March), effective immediately, as the regulator undertakes a review into the business.
The Commission said the suspension is “due to anti-money laundering practices and ongoing social responsibility concerns we have with the operator.
“We have instructed the operator to ensure that it facilitates customers’ accessing their accounts to withdraw any funds and we remain in contact with them regarding the need for clear and updated messaging for consumers,” the Commission added.
International Multi-Media Entertainments Limited is registered in the Isle of Man. In addition to Lotteries.com, the business operates Thelotterycentre.com, though this website was not one of International Multi-Media Entertainments’ domain names per its licence.
