BNY Mellon, a provider of corporate trust services to the debt capital markets (DCM), has appointed Tom Ahern as its newest Head of its Corporate Trust business across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) with immediate effect, according to a BNY Mellon statement.
Mr. Ahern steps into his new role after a lengthy tenure at BNY Mellon, spanning over seven years in its Corporate Trust space. In this capacity, he helped steer the bank’s Corporate Trust business in Ireland, whilst also leading its Global Analytics capabilities.
He originally joined BNY Mellon back in 2006, having managed its Structured Portfolio Services business within EMEA Corporate Trust. Prior to joining BNY Mellon, he also worked for the Bank of Ireland, Daiwa Securities, and Colonial First State Investments, part of a lengthy career across corporate trusts businesses.
According to Eric Kamback, Chief Executive Officer of BNY Mellon’s Corporate Trust group, in a recent statement on the appointment: “Under Tom’s direction, BNY Mellon has significantly grown its Corporate Trust operations in Ireland, which has evolved into a core service area for our European operations. Tom also led our transformation initiatives in Analytics and Corporate Trust Ireland and has the capability to apply his expertise across all of EMEA.”
