BetMGM and Washington Nationals deal will allow fans to bet online. After a short baseball season without fans, and limitations on the bars and restaurants surrounding the ballpark due to the COVID pandemic, the Nationals are betting that, once they are licenced, the BetMGM sports book and app can attract back more paying customers.
The exclusive team deal with BetMGM will allow fans to use a mobile app to wager online within a two-block radius of Nationals Park or place bets on what the team promises to be a premium viewing and sports betting experience with food and drink service with live tellers or machines.
The sports book will be available from outside the ballpark, but not inside, in the former Center Field Social venue. That’s what the team and its casino partner hope would keep the supporters cheering in their seats and neighbourhood customers dining and drinking.
Alan Gottlieb, Chief Operating Officer of Lerner Sports Group, said in a press release “The BetMGM mobile app will enable our fans to engage with the game in new and exciting ways, while the BetMGM Sportsbook connected to Nationals Park will provide Nationals fans and the D.C. community with a first-class gathering place to celebrate their passion for sports together,”
